Restless Ambitions

My horoscope on February 1st said, "Virgo: You are dreaming of a faraway place. Go where your dreams direct you."

Its true. I'm constantly wanting to be somewhere other than where I am now. In fact anyone who knows me doesn't have to guess where I really want to be. Question is how can I get back to where I wanna be?

Today my horoscope was more insistant... "You're dreaming of a faraway place. You'll never get there if you don't start moving."

Consider me to have shifted into 5th, afterburners full glow, and moving full speed ahead then.

Someday I will be riding my BMW F800 on the Hanshin Expressway in Osaka. And I will be on my way home from another day in my life. I will make it back there. I will make it back to Japan, my other home.

Queen Elizabeth Parkway

I met her at a bar. I was on my 5th drink, an Apple Martini that was more martini than apple when I spotted her. She was standing at around 5 feet even, and was surrounded by other good looking girls. I decided to chat with her... Just to see if I could know her name really. As a rule I don't go into these situations expecting anything. That way If I get anything at all, Im happy. We talked for 5 minutes, and the DAMN LIGHTS CAME ON! If you're not the clubbing type, that signal means the joint is shutting down. She's digging me, and I'm digging her, and we exit the club, and end up outside. I was waiting for my homies to see what the next move was. I thought she'd bounce on me, but then she asked me what I was gonna do. I was gonna grab a bite and go home, and she said that she'd openly be in town for a few more days but wanted to see me again. As I walked her down the street I half hoped that the situation would end up back at my pad or her hotel room, but that never happens to me. As I kissed her on the cheek, it turned into a full-on kiss. Hmmm. I walked on to my car hoping that the number she gave me wasn't a fake.

She called me the next day and we made arrangements to meet at a mall but she was not feeling good, and we ended up not seeing each other till later that night. We tried to go to another club, but stuff here shuts down way early. We ended up back at the hotel and simply talked until the sun came up. I learned almost her complete family history, and told her mine. I felt so comfortable talking. Exchanging ideas, its like sex for the mind really. Especially if you meet someone that can lead a convo in the right direction. We talked about everything from bad traffic, to the Rwandan Massacre. All the while I was looking in her brown eyes, searching. I wanted to get lost in them. Let me stop... Yeah Im a guy, but I'll go on record and say that guys think about these things too.

I really wanted to embrace this woman. To hold her, to be with her unconditionally.

Is she perfect? No. She didn't even call me when she left town. Will I see her again? I don't know. If I do, then call it luck. If not, call it another unscripted weekend.

Pimp this for a sec...

If someone were to do this, then here's what I want...

It should be made out of velvet, paisley felt, and suede. This would commemorate the first International Pimping and Pandering Games and Festival. It would be a month long and take place in cities around the world where the world's oldest profession has made an impact on society. Places like Las Vegas (legal brothels), and Atlanta (more strip clubs per capita than any other place in the US) would be prime host cities here in the States. Places like Bangkok, Amsterdam, Tiajuana and Rio de Janerio would make the A-List internationally...

When I was a kid...

I used to dream about growing up and being an adult. Now I think about being a kid again. When I have children, I will make it a point not to forget what pressures kids have. Although these may not mean much to any adult now, the pressure of fitting in, getting along with parents, sitting at the "cool" table, and trying to talk to some cute girl/boy are real ordeals for kids. I promise to keep this in mind when my children get to this stage. A good parent always listens twice; hear what's said, and more importantly what is not said. A good parent speaks once; preach one singular rule, and don't stray. Most imortant though- a good parent always loves as much as possible.

Man on Fire

Today in Atlanta, a guy on trial for rape, sodomy, and battery went kerzerk and decided to kill the trial judge, a court reporter, and a sherriff's deputy. He then got the whole city involved by carjacking an AJC reporter and taking off somewhere, making law enforcement from all over the metro area start staging and caused a traffic nightmare. Here's the offical news story here: WSB-TV story

This reminds me of July of 1999 when a disgruntled day trader killed 5 people in his office, killed his wife and kid and caused a manhunt for 3 hrs until finally turning the gun on himself in Marietta. I happened to be in that same building when all that happened and though I wasn't traumatized or even afraid, I was concerned.
What made these men become so desperate that they deemed these means neccasary? Both men were educated, held down jobs that made good money.
They say never say never, but I would never take another life if the real cause of my problems is my own.
If you see this guy, there's a $10,000 reward. Just dial 911.

UPDATE

They caught him... Well more like he gave up. Seems when he tried to hide out at some lady's apartment, he held her hostage. But she kept telling him that she needed to live becasue she had a daughter... Her husband died, and she is all the family she has. He prayed with her, and let her go. She called the police, and he gave up peacefully. I guess even the most hardened people have hearts too. Like the center of a Tootsie Pop...

River City, USA

St Louis, Missouri USA

This is my birthplace. Some famouse people have been here... Lewis & Clark, Redd Foxx, Nelly, Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain)... There is a place there where there are plaques on the sidewalk like the Hollywood walk of fame. You get a star if you are a "hometown son (or daughter) done good." I will have one there somehow...

Although I have lived half my life outside of STL, it is still my hometown, and for all its faults one thing is true... Even if the rest of the world doesn't like me, I can always go home.

This space is now claimed

I am... I was... I will be.. These are questions that I have asked and am still asking myself. As I find the answers out, so will you. If you think I am right, then rejoice in our agreement. If you think I am wrong then feel free to voice that too, just don't expect me to change my outcome to suit your tastes and opinions... But like I said, I will listen to them!

In the coming days, I will be posting a little about myself, and my musings on my little view on the world and society...

My aim is not to make a change in the grand scheme of things, but just to impress my voice and thoughts to the public-at-large... Hopefully with things like Google, Yahoo and more, my blog will outlive me, and this will become a digital testament to the universe that I even existed for a small slice of the infinium...
