4-Year-Old Contracts Herpes After Used Condom Incident

My buddy's 4-year-old nephew contracted oral herpes from a dirty condom that he mistook for a balloon. The condom was found in a hotel room the family had just checked into. Why was the room not cleaned THOROUGHLY before they checked in?
Not sure where the tyke found it in the room-- if it was found under the bed, I could maybe understand a little; usually the staff is given only 20 minutes to completely change a room out between guests-- who'd put something under the bed? why would it get dirty? However every other place should get checked.
My prayers go to the family. He doesn't have the STD version, but this does mean that he won't be kissing anyone.... Does oral herpes go away, or is there a cure? Nope. Just like the other STD version, its always there--he'll just be having breakouts from now on... Yikes. I hope they sue the $#¡† out of the Wyndham Hotel chain.

Final Friday

The last Friday back home in the ATL. Our clubs are legendary. The nightlife in this town is talked about in every r&b and hip hop song you've gotten low to. And remember freaknic? The 29 mile long hedonistic exhibiton thats one part Mardi Gras and one
part Lil John music video. They decided to bring that back... Unfortunately I'll be back in Japan when it goes down next week though.

But I'm here tonight... So what's poppin'?

Conversations about MARTA

MARTA is Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, and they run the subway and bus system here in ATL.
I took MARTA from the airport to Chamblee near my mom's house, due to her adversion to driving through downtown Atlanta's bad traffic. After living in Japan again, I'm not complaining. I took the Meitetsu Mu-Sky Rapid to Centrair-- it was very nice, and I fell asleep. I wouldn't dare try any of that here though...

While riding the subway I noticed the new maps are all color coded. Instead of saying "north-south line" or "airport line" now there's red, blue, green and yellow.... yellow-- gold? huh?

The problem here is that the yellow--er gold line runs through an asian part of town at it's terminus. I don't think when the map was created, anyone ever intended as a bad joke to say "hey lets call this one the yellow line since it runs through little Asia in Atlanta" I actually had the job of redesigning MARTA's map back in 1998 when the north line (now the Red line) was extended.

I guess I find this strange now since I live in a country that's 99% one ethnic group--Japanese. No one ever does a town hall meeting about anything concerning the other 1% of people... which is why things like the Obama monkey TV commercial happen...

I think everyone should turn their sensitivity meters down a little bit. What if the rail line was ALREADY called the Yellow line BEFORE the Asians moved to that part of Atlanta (and I remember 15 years ago, there were none up that way...) would they have asked MARTA to change the signs?

And before the table turning begins, I don't care if they rename the Green line to the Black line. It does have a station that is in the projects--and the other end lies at the Martin Luther King Memorial... Suits me just fine... The line passes the State Capitol and CNN center too. I already know I can go anywhere, and am NOT limited to a line drawn on a map!

Atlanta to Host WrestleMania 27 (hellz yeah!)

While WrestleMania 26 is still nearly two months away, the WWE announced Monday that next year's event will be hosted by Atlanta, GA.  The WWE along with the Atlanta Sports Council held a press conference Monday to officially announce that WrestleMania 27 will take place at the Georgia Dome on Sunday, April 3, 2011.
This will be the first that time that the WWE spectacular will take place in Atlanta. Sunday night, the city hosted the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view at the Phillips Arena.
"We are thrilled to bring the biggest sports entertainment event in the world for the first time to the city of Atlanta in 2011. The enthusiasm of the sellout crowd at last night's Royal Rumble was just a small sample of what to expect when WrestleMania XXVII takes over Atlanta," said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO. "We look forward to focusing the eyes of the world onto the great city of Atlanta and making history at the Georgia Dome."
Wrestling has been a long-time fixture in Atlanta and was a hotbed for the National Wrestling Alliance and World Championship Wrestling. The city is a natural fit for the event and it should do very well there.

Well there goes some more ¥,$, and vacation time for next year... Funny how I finally move to Japan, and NOW all these major events that I wanted to have happen in my own backyard are FINALLY happening?! I missed the MLB All-Star Game being in my hometown, St. Louis in '09; even though ATL is my home now, I'd have driven back there to at least have the experience... But say what you will about wrasslin'-- Its watched around the world, loved by its fans (including some die-hard fans here in Japan that don't mind paying ¥50,000 [US$510] for a seat... and not a very good one even!) And now WRESTLEMANIA will be in the Georgia Dome!! Well looks like I'll be making my visit back home this time next year one week longer... I'm getting tix the first day they come out!!! Hellz yeah!!
